My concerns with the Board developed over the period of time shown on the homeowner association page. Mismanagement of our part-time employee by paying her with the name of her property management company on her paycheck and her email additional responsibilities, that pleads for higher compensation for doing property management, lead me to the conclusion the Board was already paying for her management company.
The Directors of our homeowner association,(a non-profit Planned Unit Development), hired Mary as the office administrator approximately thirteen years ago. Her annual review worksheet shows thirty items that were her duties at the time. After my seven-year absence from the Board, I returned in 2010 and now find her duties have greatly expanded. This increased responsibility has caused a problem with Mary’s compensation and is the reason for my concern with members on the Board and their direction.
The results of those previous reviews showed Mary was competent with all her duties, outstanding when dealing with the members of the community (items #1 and #30) but needed moderate improvement (item #27) ‘maintain a clean and orderly office’. These results are, to me, current today if I were to rate Mary by these standards. Mary has outgoing and engaging personality and when combined with a pleasant demeanor she remains very popular in the community.
The tone of this letter and comments pertaining to Mary relate directly to the homeowner association Board of Directors. My primary concern is the Board will hire a management company. This letter is to notify the community of a special meeting next Tuesday (August 30, 2011) at 7:00 P.M. The Board will interview a landscape contractor, discuss Mary’s duties and possibly hire her property management company Mustang Property Services, Inc..
If you have a concern and wish to express your opinion then please attend the meeting, send an email to the office, send me an email, or write your opinion then sign on the reverse of this letter and drop in the mailbox at the community center. I will forward all correspondence to the office and other board members.
I will post the results of the meeting on this site.
All my concerns are listed on Homeowner Association page.
